Welcome to Generations Mercantile, a small family shop born from love, remembrance, and tradition.
Our story began after the passing of my three great aunts - three remarkable sisters who never married, but devoted their lives to caring for one another and for our family. As we sorted through their belongings, we uncovered a treasure trove of items quietly holding decades of stories: trunks filled with vintage fabrics, sewing patterns, and everyday pieces they had used and cherished.
These women sewed nearly everything they wore - right down to their undergarments - throughout their lives. Their patterns, spanning the 1940s through the 1980s, reflect changing fashions and eras, but more importantly, they reflect resilience, creativity, and pride in handmade work.
At Generations Mercantile, we are honoring that legacy by bringing some of those patterns back to life. Our handmade aprons and sewn goods are inspired by original vintage designs, thoughtfully paired with vibrant fabrics and themes for today’s homes. As our shop grows, we look forward to introducing more patterns and handcrafted items rooted in this same tradition.
Alongside our handmade pieces, we share a love for preserving the past through vintage finds, antiques, and collectibles - items meant to be treasured, displayed, and passed down. Each piece we offer is chosen with care, whether it’s crafted by hand or collected from generations before.
